For Immediate Release Enova Medical Technologies Expands Its Contract Manufacturing Service Agreement with Disc Dynamics, Inc.ST. PAUL, Minn. (February 13, 2008) – Enova Medical Technologies announced today that it has signed a two-year extension to its contract manufacturing service agreement with Disc Dynamics, Inc. (DDI) that expands Enova’s role in manufacturing DDI’s DASCOR® Disc Arthroplasty System. Since 2006, Enova has been handling the assembly, packaging and sterilization of the DASCOR system, including the sterile fill of the company’s patented polymer that forms the nucleus for damaged discs. Under the terms of the new agreement, Enova will add supply chain management services to the work currently being performed to produce the DASCOR system. “The vast majority of Enova’s work is done in a Class 100 sterile chamber that requires long and sustained periods of rigorous concentration by specially trained and highly skilled technicians. There is simply no room for error,” said Ron Burke, vice president of DDI. “Enova has been the perfect partner with an extraordinary commitment to providing quality work and timely performance.” Roger Heegaard, president of Enova, said, “Enova is especially proud to partner with companies like DDI who are at the forefront of new medical innovation. We are honored to be a part of their manufacturing team and now, as we move ahead, to add our full range of supply chain management to the services we provide to them. We look forward to supporting and growing with DDI in this exciting stage of their development.” Disc Dynamics, Inc. (DDI) was established to provide patients and physicians with a minimally invasive surgical alternative for treating low back pain. To achieve this goal, DDI has developed the DASCOR® Disc Arthroplasty System, an innovative treatment for patients suffering from chronic low back pain caused by Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD). The DASCOR Disc Arthroplasty System uses a small incision to gain access to the nucleus in the disc space, remove it and replace it with an artificial nucleus that is designed to relieve pain and restore function. The system is designed to allow patients whose condition is serious enough to require surgery a minimally invasive surgical option. Enova Medical Technologies, a privately-held company, is engaged in the development and commercialization of proprietary medical devices and is an experienced provider of product development, manufacturing, and commercialization services for the medical device industry. From Class I to Class III devices, Enova understands the technical challenges of product design, engineering, research and development, the regulatory steps required to successfully commercialize products, and the marketing and sales efforts needed to move inventory off the shelf.
