Enova Medical Launches AmniTwist™ “The Twizzle” Amniotic Membrane Perforator

ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 7, 2007) – For birthing mothers and their physicians, one aspect of delivery has been made a bit easier. Enova Medical Technologies is pleased to announce today the launch of its newest generation of amniotic membrane perforators, the AmniTwist™ “The Twizzle.”

“The need for a new amniotic perforator is long overdue. The mechanics of the AmniTwist are simple and familiar to the OB/GYN practice, and more importantly, the outcomes of using it are outstanding,” said Fariborz Boor Boor, CEO of Enova. “By designing a highly flexible shaft and using a gentle twisting motion, this device improves amniotomy success rates, increases patient comfort, reduces the risk of fetal injury, and has significant cost-savings for the healthcare industry.”

The sleek and flexible design, with the protective Flex Guide Tube™ and AmniTwist FlexTip™, provides safe and easy passage through the cervix. This allows physicians to gently perforate the amniotic membrane even at the earliest stages of labor if necessary (less than 1 cm dilation). The device is latex-free and hypoallergenic. A patent is pending on “The Twizzle.”
